WONDERFUL COUNSELOR
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. (Psalm 32:8)
Dearly beloved, our God is wonderful in counsel (Isaiah 28:29). He says,
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will
counsel you and watch over you” (Psalm 32:8). The Lord sees those who
have been forsaken by everyone. He shows them the way they should walk.
He keeps His eyes upon them and instructs them.
Recently, I had
been to Singapore to do the Lord’s ministry. I spoke about Jabez in one
of my meetings. His mother had named him Jabez saying, “I gave birth to
him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would
bless me and enlarge my territory. Let your hand be with me and keep me
from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request
(1 Chronicles 4:9,10). This was the crux of my message.
One of
the sisters who heard my message that day, came running to the dais in
order to share her testimony to glorify God. She said, “Today, I have
lost everything and I am literally on the street. I do not know what
will happen when I return home.”
“Inspite of my agony, I came to
this meeting with great expectation. I firmly believe that today’s
message was given only for me. Although I have lost everything in life,
today God has filled my heart with His divine joy and peace. I am
confident that the Lord who sees me will certainly bless me in double
measure just as He blessed Jabez.”
After a few days, I received a
phone call from the pastor of the church who arranged that meeting in
Singapore. He told me, “Sister, do you remember that person who shared
her testimony as to how she lost everything in life and how your message
was a blessing to her? Today, God has blessed her in an abundant
measure and she is leading a happy life.”
In the same way, God
saw the tears of Hagar. The angel of the Lord found her near a spring in
the desert and asked, “Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come
from, and where are you going?” She answered, “I am running away from my
mistress Sarai.” Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your
mistress and submit to her.” Hagar obeyed His words and returned to her
mistress. She delivered a child at the right time and her family was
blessed (Genesis 16:15).
Even today, the Lord is looking at you.
He wants to be with you and guide you. When you obey His instruction, He
will supply all your wants and bless you.
Prayer:Loving Lord Jesus,
You
are wonderful in counsel. You are the Lord who sees me and knows my
situation. Trusting in your faithfulness, I submit my life to You. I
choose to obey your words and live by your counsel. Guide me with your
divine counsel and enable me to experience your wonderful grace. May
blessings follow me all the days of my life.
I ask this through Christ our Lord
Amen.
