Today's Word of Blessing

NEW LIFE IN CHRIST

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!    (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Dearly beloved, when you receive the redemption of Lord Jesus Christ, you will have a new life.

Sadhu Sunder Singh, a great man of God, went to a city in Sri Lanka. There, a family brought their son to him and saying: “Sir! Our son suffers from T.B. Please lay your hands upon him and pray for him. If you place your hands and pray, surely the Lord will show compassion. Immediately our son will be healed.” “Madam! You ask me to lay my hands upon him and pray. Many years ago, the same hands tore the Scriptures. They are cursed ones.”

Yes! We are tormented by the sins committed by our hands and sins within our hearts. The feeling of guilt destroys our peace. Many young people shed tears saying: “Brother! I pass through bitter suffering on account of my sins and iniquities. I do not sleep, sin haunts me. I languish with no peace of mind.”

In order to help us in such a situation, Lord Jesus gave His body to be broken. Carrying His own Cross, He went out to Golgotha (John 19:17). He carried the Cross because He felt that He should bear the burden of the sins of all His children (Colossians 2:14). His hands and feet were nailed for the remission of the sins committed by our hands and feet (John 20:27).

The Scripture states, “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24).

When we repent of our sins and ask for forgiveness, the Lord shall cleanse us with His blood. He shall transform our lives. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). He shall fill us with joy and enable us to lead peaceful lives in Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You sacrificed your life on the Cross for my redemption. You bore all the sufferings to give me a new life. I repent of my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Cleanse me with your blood. Transform me into a new creation. Fill me with joy and enable me to lead a peaceful life.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

THE PROMISE OF STRENGTH

God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.    (1 Corinthians 1:27)
Dearly beloved, the Scripture reveals, “He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires” (2 Peter 1:4).

In this world today, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life are seen increasingly among men. How many hearts are tainted by films that spoil the minds of people, and so many other lustful attractions! Further, there are dissensions and conflicts in families everywhere. What is the reason? Lust! Why have the above promises been given? They have been given to deliver us from weaknesses, receive the divine nature of God and live as saintly people.

The Bible comforts us saying: “Be not afraid, O land; be glad and rejoice. Surely the LORD has done great things” ( Joel 2:21). Let us cling to the above words of promise. “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God” ( 2 Corinthians 1: 20).

I have written many books. I do not have the knowledge or wisdom to write such books. I am deficient in every respect. When I lost my daughter, God asked me write a book. I finished writing it through the help of the Holy Spirit. I wrote most of these books out of my tearful experiences so that they might be useful to those who are in tears and anguish.

Our God who is strong and mighty, chooses the imperfect and the weak. He makes them strong in order that they would live for His glory. He uses such of them to accomplish His purposes on earth. The Bible positively states, “God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong” (1 Corinthians 1:27). We may be weak but He will not reject us. Let us cling fast to His promises and receive His blessings.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are strong and mighty. I cling fast to your precious promises. Remove my shortcomings. Strengthen me through your divine grace. Impart your divine nature in me and enable me to live a pure life. Help me to live for your glory. Fulfill your divine purpose in my life. May your name alone be glorified.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

BE COURAGEOUS

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.    (Isaiah 43:1)
Dearly beloved, the Lord comforts you saying, "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1). Moreover He assures, “I will not leave you as you are. I will make you My own.” That is how He transformed me.

Until I was 14 years old, though I knew the Lord, I lived without clinging to Him. I valued the love of my parents more than His. Probably you are living far away from your homes. You may be missing your parents’ love. The Lord says to such of you: “My child! Fear not, I love you more than your parents love you.” He spoke to me likewise and from that moment onwards, I started loving Him even without my knowledge. He too drew me close to Him by cords of His love. Whatever happens, He is sufficient for me. The Lord who helped me, will surely help you.

The Bible states, “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man” (Psalm 118:8). These are loveless times where the son rises against the father, daughter against the mother and daughter-in-law against the mother-in-law (Micah 7: 5 and 6). People have been reduced to the extent of asking, “What is the price of Love?” Awful problems arise in families due to the lack of love. Nevertheless the Lord assures: “Amidst all these problems, I will help you. Fear not! Trust Me fully. I will protect You.”

Do you lack joy in your life? Do you live in hostile surroundings beset by poverty, sickness and suffering? Today the Lord says “Fear not! I have redeemed you by shedding My blood.” David, the man of God says: “In God I trust; I will not be afraid” (Psalm 56:4 and 11). Can you boldly say like that? When you profess your faith like him, God will certainly protect you. He said to Abraham: "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward" (Genesis 15:1).

Once I suffered a lot from sickness. Amidst my illness, one day, I had to minister for God. As His presence was with me, I had the trust that nothing could harm me. That evening, I went to the Jesus Calls office. Our office staff prayed for me with tears and I also joined them in prayer. Since then, I received new strength.

God promises that He would strengthen you in weakness. Apostle Paul pleaded thrice in weakness. “Alas! I am so weak.” The Lord replied: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" ( 2 Corinthians 12:9). Have you come as a weakling? God says: “Fear not Jacob, you are My servant, I am with you. I will save you.” The secret of Christian life is that God is with His children.

One day while Peter, the man of God, was speaking in the house of Cornelius, the centurion, the Holy Spirit filled those who were present there. Even today, He is in your midst. Whoever longs and asks for the Holy Spirit, will receive Him in his/ her heart. He is not a respecter of persons. He spoke to Zechariah: “Zechariah, fear not, for your prayer is heard.” To Mary, His angel said: "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God” (Luke 1:30). Yes, when God is with you, His grace will be upon you.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You have redeemed me by shedding your blood. I take refuge in You because You have promised to protect me at all times. I fully trust in You for my protection. I believe that You will never forsake me because I know that Your love for me is deeper than the love of my parents. I profess my faith in You. Fill me with your presence and strengthen me in my weakness. May your presence and grace may always be with me.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

THE HOPE OF HEAVEN

Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.    (Hebrews 12:1)
Dearly beloved, Lord Jesus tells us, “Rejoice that your names are written in heaven" (Luke 10:20). Yes! How much are we to rejoice because our names are written in heaven.

A soldier, on his death bed, was murmuring something. His colleagues who noticed his unusual behavior asked him in surprise: “Why do you keep saying, ‘I am here! I am here?’” He responded: “Lo! I see the doors of heaven open. My name is called there. I am answering the roll that is called there.” And soon he died.

Lord Jesus said: "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit…” (John 15: 1 and 2).

We read the same thing in Romans 11:22. On many occasions, we were about to backslide. When the call of God came, we were indifferent and caused pain to Him. There were times when we grieved our parents. However, the Lord was gracious unto us. Whenever temptations and problems came, the Holy Spirit poured the love of God on us (Romans 5:5). That is why we are still united with Him as branches of the vine. Our Father has not cut us off. Our names are not blotted out in heaven. He does love us all the time.

Arnold Alson was the President of the Evangelical Church in USA. Once when he went to a town to preach, he stayed in a room. Another elderly pastor also stayed along with him. He was a saint. One day while he was shaving, he told Alson: “Alson! If I do not recognize you in heaven, please do not get angry with me.” Greatly shocked by those words, Alson inquired: “Why do you say like that?” The pastor answered: “When I go to heaven, I will be constantly watching the face of Lord Jesus even for 1000 years. I won’t have time to see you.” See his love for God!

Yes, our names are written in heaven. The hope that one day we will go to heaven and be with God, makes us rejoice exceedingly. The Scripture exhorts, “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1). According to the afore-mentioned Bible verse, let us abide in Lord Jesus Christ and live righteous lives in order to receive the eternal crown.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are full of grace and mercy. I thank You for the gift of salvation which You have given me through your grace. I will rejoice in my salvation for I now belong to You. Enable me to live righteously according to your Word. Give me the grace to continue in faith and abide in You. Enable me to rejoice in the hope that my name is written in heaven.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

HEAVENLY HONOUR

Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.    (Isaiah 53:4)
Dearly beloved, Lord Jesus will honor us by giving us rewards for the things we do for Him. How will He honour us? “He will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them” (Luke 12:37). That is the gift awaiting us in heaven. So let us rejoice! The Scripture exclaims, “For great is your reward in heaven…” (Matthew 5:12).

My father used to speak often about my uncle, the late Brother George. While he was struggling for life in the hospital, my father was also in great agony due to his heart ailment. We were in great fear as to what would happen.

One day, my father had a vision while he was lying in his bed. My uncle was climbing upstairs very elegantly dressed. An angel of the Lord was leading him. When my father asked him: “Annan, where are you going?” he replied: “I hear a lovely song above. I go there.” When my father said: “Annan, there is a lot of work for you here. Please do it,” he answered: “Yes, I will come.” But within two days, my uncle entered into the presence of God.

My father saw in the vision an angel of God waiting to receive him. He was introducing everyone who was entering heaven while Lord Jesus was seated on a golden throne. When my uncle’s turn came he was introduced: “King George Everlasting is here.” Lord Jesus stood up and embraced him saying: “My son! How much have you suffered for Me! What impressed Me most in you is how much you have suffered in arranging the ‘Jesus Calls’ Good News meetings. You must know that through you, several lakhs have come into heaven.”

The Lord then escorted my uncle to the place that had been prepared for him saying: “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!” (Matthew 25:21).

Friend! If we have done anything for Lord Jesus, we will greatly rejoice. The blessings we enjoy are not meant for this world alone. Lord Jesus has prepared greater blessings for us in heaven. "He will reward each person according to what he has done" (Matthew 16:27). So let us be exceedingly glad.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You have created me with a purpose. I fully surrender my life to You. Help me to know your will and give me your grace to lead my life according to your will. Accomplish your will in my life. Help me to lead countless people towards You. Enable me to live for your glory. Crown me with your reward in eternity. Give me the grace to inherit the greater blessings which You have in store for me in heaven.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.
