Today's Word of Blessing

HUMBLE BEFORE GOD

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.    (James 4:6)
Dearly beloved, God is gracious to the humble. He blesses them with riches, honour and life.

In Luke 18:10-14, we read about a Pharisee and a tax collector who went to the temple and prayed. The Pharisee prided in praying: “God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector” (Luke 18:11).

Pride very often prevents the Lord from listening to our prayers. The Bible states, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6, Proverbs 3:34).

There are some who become bloated with pride on receiving the anointing of the Holy Spirit. When they pray with that pride, the Lord resists them. Remember the fate of Herod. The Bible relates, “Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died” (Acts 12:23).

Once I read a tragic story. Many fantastic miracles were performed through a couple so mightily used by God. Once while they were ministering in a foreign country, they were taken to a demon-possessed woman kept captive in a house.

They went straight to her, and placing their hands on her rebuked the devil: “Wicked spirit! Come out. Hasten away to hell!” The woman got up, caught hold of the sister and gave her a jolt. She was seized with a frightful disease that same instant, and since then her body is trembling all the time. What a great pity!

Dearly beloved! Let us be cautious in our lives. Let us humble ourselves before God. It is our gracious Lord Jesus who performs signs and miracles and wipes our tears! So let us fall at His feet each day and implore, “Lord! You are my everything. Grant me your grace!” He will hear our prayers and be gracious unto us!

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I come before You in humility and seek your divine blessings. I honour You with all my heart. I choose to serve You with fear and trembling. I am your humble servant. Use me as your vessel to bring glory to your name. Give me your grace and favour. Bless me with riches, honour and life.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

CHRIST OUR REDEEMER

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.    (Galatians 3:13)
Dearly beloved, Lord Jesus Christ offers eternal redemption.

A young sister named Rachael had accepted the Lord as her Saviour in her childhood. But she could get her partner only from a family of nominal Christians. She lived in sorrow and bitter disappointment. Yet she waited and prayed at the Lord’s feet, and with God’s grace tried to win her husband’s family to Christ.

At first, her pious way of living was a matter for fun and wonder to all around her. But in course of time, the love of Lord Jesus seen in her drew them all to Christ.

In that family, all the daughters-in-law were childless. So when Rachael entered the family, everyone told her that she too would not have a child. She was greatly depressed. She prayed in tears that the Lord should bless her womb. The Bible says that children are a reward from God (Psalm 127:3). Accordingly, the Lord blessed her and made her fruitful. There was great joy in the family.

Others saw a ray of hope. They all began wrestling in prayer along with Rachael. Praying for everyone with great burden, she turned every soul to Christ. She initiated everyone in prayer and Bible reading. The Lord lifted the curse that lay over that family. The other daughters-in-law also conceived soon and received the Lord’s blessings.

Even today, in this same manner, Lord Jesus is ready to bless our individual as well as family lives. Are you by any chance passing through any such curses? Lord Jesus Christ is ready to redeem you from such curses and shower His blessings upon you.

The Lord says, “As you have been an object of cursing among the nations, O Judah and Israel, so will I save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong" (Zechariah 8:13). The Bible reveals, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.’" (Galatians 3:13).

Let us acknowledge: “Lord! You became a curse for my sake. You were broken for my sins and iniquities. You were offered as a trespass offering and wounded for my diseases. Thank You dear Lord!” Make a decision: “Hereafter, I shall cling to You alone! I will live for You alone!”

The Bible states, “The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it” (Proverbs 10:22). May the Lord Himself, according to His promise, renew your lives and crown them with His blessings!

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are my Redeemer. You became a curse for my sake on the cross. I believe in You and receive your forgiveness by faith. I place my faith in You and receive my deliverance from all curses. Renew my life and crown me with your blessings.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

Today's Verse

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Today's Word of Blessing

THE DOUBLE BLESSING

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.    (John 14:12)
Dearly beloved, God will remove the hindrances from your life and grant the double portion of His blessing to you.

Before the Israelites could enter the promised land, the Lord made them to cross the Jordan river. As soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap and the Israelites crossed over (Joshua 3:10-17). The Lord miraculously opened a way for them.

When the LORD was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal to the Jordan river. Fifty men of the company of the prophets were watching them (II Kings 2:7). They were discouraging Elisha. They asked him, “Do you know that the Lord is going to take your master from you today?” He replied, “Yes I know, but do not speak of it.”

Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The water was parted to the one side and to the other (II Kings 2:8). Elisha did not listen to the discouraging words of those men. His attention was fully on God. Thus the water divided and they could cross over the river.

As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” (II Kings 2:11,12). It was at that time the spirit of Elijah came upon Elisha in double measure. Immediately, Elisha became a totally new person.

Dear friend, sometimes, you may also face hindrances through such people. They may try to discourage you. But the Lord who does miracles will be with you and help you.

Naaman, the commander of the Syrian army, was sent to the Jordan river in order to be cleansed from his leprosy (II Kings 5:14). It was in the very same river Lord Jesus got baptized before He began His ministry (Matthew 3:13). The same Holy Spirit who came upon Him on the shores of the Jordan will also come upon you. When that happens, you will be transformed into His likeness (II Corinthians 3:18).

Lord Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12).

The Holy Spirit is willing to transform you into the image of Lord of Jesus. He will make the people of this world to see Him in you. He is waiting to grant you the double portion of His blessing. So sanctify yourself today. Start praying for your friends and those who despise you. Then He will certainly bless you in double measure and use you mightily for His glory.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are the Lord who does mighty miracles. I trust in You at all times. Remove the hindrances to my blessings. Let the double portion of your anointing come upon me and transform me into your likeness. Display your power and glory through my life. May I receive twofold blessing.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

BLESSING THE FAITHFUL

A faithful man will be richly blessed    (Proverbs 28:20)
Dearly beloved, God is faithful in keeping His promises. He has called us to be faithful to Him.

I always used to feel proud of my husband. Initially, I lost two of my children. Only then our son Paul Dhinakaran was born. When he was a little kid, my husband would not have time to play with him. He was very careful in spending all his time in spiritual activities.

I still remember the day when he had nearly 10 minutes to spare before he left for office. Even in that little time, he did not choose to spend his time with his son. Instead, he wanted to spend even that time in the presence of God. Since we were living in a tiny house, he knelt down in a corner and cried out to God saying, “Lord, I need Your power to do Your ministry mightily.”

The Lord who was watching his faithfulness transported him to heaven for the first time. He was taken to heaven in the spirit and there he saw the Almighty God. The Lord asked him, “What do you want?” My husband replied, “I need the gifts of the Holy Spirit.” The Lord granted him the gifts of the Holy Spirit and fulfilled his desire.

When you spend all your spare time in the presence of God, the Lord will look at your faithfulness and exalt you in this world.

Dearly beloved, it is because of the faithfulness of Bro. Dhinakaran the Lord has blessed the Jesus Calls ministry today. He has helped us to establish this ministry all over the world. The Bible promises, “A faithful man will be richly blessed…” (Proverbs 28:20). As stated in the above Bible verse, the Lord will honour you for your faithfulness and richly reward you with His priceless blessings.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are faithful. You never fail to keep your promises. Give me a faithful heart. Help me to obey You always and carry out your will in this world. Help me to remain faithful in little things. Bestow your rich blessings upon me. Honour my faithfulness and richly reward me with your priceless blessings.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

GOD REJOICES OVER YOU

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.    (Zephaniah 3:17)
Dearly beloved, the awesome, mighty, incomparable, victorious and compassionate God who has the power to save you is with you on this day.

God is in the midst of you and is always approachable. The Bible says, “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you…” (Zephaniah 3:17).

God lives in unapproachable light (1 Timothy 6:16). Normally, no man can enter into His presence. However, our loving Lord Jesus Christ says that He can take us to the Father.

He says, “My dear children! Ask in My name for anything and I will give it to you.” That is why, whenever we make our supplications to our heavenly Father, we offer it in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Through Him, one can enter into the presence of the Almighty God.

The Lord says, “But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people” (Jeremiah 7:23). The Bible says, “For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’ ‘I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty’ (2 Corinthians 6: 16, 18). The Lord longs to walk and dwell with you as a mighty God to pull you out of all your troubles.

When my sister Angel passed away, we wept. One day, the Lord spoke to us through the Holy Spirit: “My children! I am also crying with you. Don’t think that I am hard-hearted. If I were to explain the reason as to why I allowed this, you will not understand. At the right time, you will understand it. You must understand that now I am also weeping with you.” Truly, He weeps along with us when we weep.

It is recorded in the Bible that Lord Jesus Christ did weep along with Martha and Mary. Only after that he questioned them, “Where have you laid Lazarus?” Lord Jesus went to the tomb where Lazarus was laid and cried out, “Lazarus come forth!” Lazarus came out as a living soul.

Lord Jesus Christ rejoiced upon seeing the overwhelming happiness on the faces of Martha and Mary when Lazarus was brought back to life. This is the wonderful heart of our Lord Jesus Christ. He wants to see us happy. It was for this purpose He had suffered on the cross at Calvary.

Lord Jesus has destroyed the powers of sorrows, sickness and sin. Today, when you cry out to Him, “Lord! Save me from sin, sickness and devil,” He will descend as a mighty God in your midst to deliver you. He will delight in your deliverance.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I confess that You are with me as a mighty warrior. Help me to place my trust in You to be strengthened always. Grant me the anointing of the Holy Spirit that I may be strengthened to do good works throughout my life. Help me to watch and pray. I trust that Your only begotten Son is the Bread of Life and He shed His blood to cleanse me of my sins. On this day, may the joy of the Lord be my strength.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.
