Today's Word of Blessing

OUR EVER PRESENT HELPEvangeline Paul Dhinakaran

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.    (Psalm 46:1)
The Dhinakarans Dearly beloved, the Psalmist says, “I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me” (Psalm 40:17). Probably you are poor and needy. But the Lord who delivered David from all his troubles will surely deliver you and help you as well.

The Psalmist describes as to how the Lord helped him in the following Scripture verses:

“…You have been my helper” (Psalm 27:9). “The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD: ‘O LORD, save me!’

"…When I was in great need, He saved me. …For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling” (Psalm 116:3-8).

You may be facing a lot of afflictions today. Probably you are crying, “Lord, look at my afflictions and tears. Please deliver my soul.” The Lord shall be with you and help you.

I present below the testimony of Sis. Maheswari Loganathan. She describes as how she walked through the valley of tears and how the Lord delivered her from all her problems.

“I am married for 22 years. My husband was addicted to alcohol for nearly 17 years. Every day, he would come home fully drunk. So there was no peace at home. We used to quarrel all the time. I spent all my days in tears.

"At this juncture, I happened to watch ‘The Hour of Hope’ programme on TV. In that particular programme, Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran prayed specially for those who were under the clutches of alcoholism. I too joined her and prayed with tears for my husband. I also enrolled my family in the Jesus Calls Family Blessing Plan. The Lord saw my tears. He heard the prayers of Sis. Evangeline and miraculously delivered my husband from the evil habit of drinking liquor.

"Moreover, I suffered a lot for the past five years due to a fracture in my hip bone. The doctors advised me to undergo a surgery. But the Lord heard our prayers and healed me miraculously without any surgery. I offer millions of praises to God for helping me.”

Job says, “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). In the same way, you will also come forth as gold. You will surely see the deliverance granted to you by the Lord.

Psalmist David says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). God is a refuge for the oppressed. He is the source of our strength. He is always waiting to help us in times of trouble. Trust in Him at all times. He will surely deliver you.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are my refuge and strength. I am poor and needy. I call upon your name in the time of my great need. I trust in You at all times. Please remember me and look at my tears. Deliver me from all my troubles.

I ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
