HUMILITY LEADS TO HONOURPaul Dhinakaran
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. (1 Peter 5:5)

Dearly beloved, humility leads to honour.
Look closely at the
life of Judas, a disciple of Lord Jesus. He had been with the Lord! Yet
because of the pride that arose in him, he belittled His supernatural
grace and accused Him. So the devil entered into him. Because of the
pride that swelled up in him, he even betrayed Him (Mark 14:45).
Look
at the thief who hung on the cross beside Lord Jesus. The Bible says,
“In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also heaped
insults on him” (Matthew 27:44).
But in the end, one of them, on
knowing that Lord Jesus was the Son of the Almighty God, repented and
pleaded with Him: "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom"
(Luke 23:42).
Lord Jesus forgave Him so freely saying: "I tell
you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43) and
granted him a place in heaven. Yes! He grants his grace to the one who
humbles himself.
But as for Judas, though he repented of his
deed, he didn’t go to the Lord for forgiveness. Perhaps, if Judas had
humbled himself and returned to Lord Jesus, He would have surely
forgiven him. He would have accepted him also just as He forgave and
accepted that thief. But the proud decision of Judas ended in his
suicide.
Dearly beloved, perhaps you might have drifted away from
God! You might have disobeyed your parents or teachers or elders or
talked defying your neighbours. Yet come back right now to Lord Jesus
and plead: “Lord! I have done the wrong deeds. I have disobeyed my
parents and sinned against my neighbours. Please forgive me.”
When
you become a child of God, it is so easy to live happily in your home
and work peacefully in your office! When you humble yourselves before
God, He will grant you His grace to obey your parents in all matters.
Always live in concord with your parents. Didn’t Lord Jesus obey His
parents and live in concord with them? The Bible also exhorts us,
“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord”
(Colossians 3:20).
Dear friend! When you turn back to Lord Jesus,
He will grant you His grace! He will bless all your efforts. He will
grant peace in your home! You can then write your examination with the
wisdom He gives. You can work peacefully in your office! The Lord will
grant you His grace.
The Bible says, "God opposes the proud but
gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5). When you walk in humility
before God, He will be pleased with you. He will grant you His
supernatural grace. He will exalt you at the right time. You will gain
honour among your family, friends and relatives.
Prayer:Loving Lord Jesus,
I
humble myself before You. I repent and seek your forgiveness. Remember
me in your mercy. Wash me with your precious blood and grant me your
forgiveness. Accept me into your fold and grant me divine peace. Shower
your blessings upon me and exalt me in life.
I ask this through Christ our Lord
Amen.
