LIVING IN VICTORY

The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand    (Psalm 121:5)
Dearly beloved, the Bible assures, “The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand” (Psalm 121:5). God loves you and watches over you all the time. He is ever ready to help you.

The Bible says: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:37-39).

We go through bitterness in this life. Some people even try to commit suicide. Committing suicide is not a solution to all your problems. It is the love you have for the Lord which will enable you to lead a victorious life. The Bible says that God is love (I John 4:8 and 16). Our loving God will never allow us to suffer for long.

Consider the life of Esther. Suddenly, she had to face a storm in her life. Haman, a cruel man, wanted to destroy the Jews completely. He also had the support of the king. So no one could question him. When Esther heard about his treacherous plan, she clung on to God. She and her friends sought the face of God with fasting for three days. She poured out her heart at the feet of God.

She cried out to God according to the following Scripture verses: “Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord” (Lamentations 2:19). “I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy. I pour out my complaint before him; before him I tell my trouble” (Psalm 142:1,2).

The Lord heard her prayer and granted her a new hope and new confidence. With the help of God, she began to act. The Bible says, “He did this today with God’s help (I Samuel 14:45). The Lord was with Esther and protected her (Isaiah 52:12). Finally, Haman and his family were destroyed by the king and the Jews were saved.

The Lord will do the same for you also. Probably, you are going through tribulations in your life. May be you are going through agony as a result of your failures. You must learn to look only at Lord Jesus. Although Esther was a queen, she humbled herself and fasted in the presence of God for three days. Many people lose all their hope and keep crying all the time. Many others go to various places seeking deliverance due to their ignorance.

Dearly beloved, do not indulge in activities that do not please the Lord. They will only drag you into sin. Lord Jesus is eagerly waiting to remove all your afflictions. He says, “You can do nothing without me.” When you abide in Lord Jesus Christ, He will make you a conqueror.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are my Deliverer. I call upon You in the day of my trouble. I cast my cares on You. I trust You to get through this trial. Standing firm in my faith, I pray for my deliverance. Deliver me from this trial in your name and authority. Let my faith in You bring me victory.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

GOD'S WATCHFUL EYE

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.    (1Peter 3:12)
Dearly beloved, the Bible says, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer…” (1Peter 3:12).

Many years back, when my son Paul was quite young, my husband sent a message to one of the Evangelists through him. He asked him to bring back a reply from him. Paul took his bicycle and went to that house.

He knocked the door of that house around 7.30 in the morning. But the door did not open. He kept on knocking. Then one of the neighbours said, “Why are you simply knocking? They will never get up before 8’o clock.”

What do the neighbours say about you and your family?

The Scripture says, “Who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body” (Philippians 3:21). In the above mentioned Scripture verse, God Himself has promised to transform our lowly bodies into His glorious body. So plead with Him to transform you today. The Bible says, “For everyone who asks receives” (Matthew 7:7,8). He will surely answer your prayer.

You must seek the Lord as a family early in the morning. This is what God has graciously taught us to do in our family. Every day, we will have our family prayer at 6’o clock in the morning. That is why God has blessed us in an abundant measure. When you seek the Lord in this fashion, He will bless you also.

What did Lord Jesus tell His disciples?

He said, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high" (Luke 24:49). “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about” (Acts 1:4).

The disciples of Lord Jesus were gripped by fear. They were wondering as to what would happen to them after His death. They were very much worried about their future. So they were sitting in a room with all doors closed fearing as to what would happen to them. It was at that moment Lord Jesus appeared before them and said, “Peace be unto you.”

Today, are you worried about your future? The Lord will surely remove all your fears and anxieties and bless you with His strength. Then you will be able to lead a witnessing life for Him (Acts 1:8). The Bible discloses, “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him” (II Chronicles 16:9). According to the above mentioned Scripture verse, the Lord is very much concerned about you. He watches over you all the time.

When you maintain a close relationship with God and reflect the love of Lord Jesus to others, God will be pleased with you. He will save you, transform you and enable you to grow in Him. He will also fill you with perfect knowledge and grant His abundant blessings.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I seek You earnestly. In your mercy, look upon me and give ear to my prayer. Remove all my fears and anxieties concerning my future. Bless me with your strength. Transform me and help me to lead a life for your glory. Fill me with perfect knowledge and grant me your abundant blessings.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

GROWING IN CHRIST

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.    (Psalm 91:1)
Dearly beloved, Christian life is growing in Christ every day.

These days, Christians are satisfied that they are saved, baptized and anointed. They think that is the end of Christian life. No, it is not so. Knowing Lord Jesus Christ and walking closely with Him is the true Christian life.

The Bible says, “…Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord……for this very reason, make very effort to add to your faith goodness and to goodness knowledge….” (II Peter 1:2-7).

Peter, an Apostle of God, has written the above words through the Holy Spirit. When we grow in the knowledge of Lord Jesus Christ and remain in Him, we shall receive His grace and peace. Then we shall also bear fruit (John 15:4,5,16).

Paul the Apostle wrote the following to the Church of God in Corinth urging them to become more and more holy. “I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way--in all your speaking and in all your knowledge because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you” (I Corinthians 1:4-6).

Whoever wants to follow Lord Jesus Christ must get enriched in the knowledge of Christ.

How to get enriched?

The Bible says, “I always thank God for you because of His grace given to you in Christ Jesus” (I Corinthians 1:6). So, we must know God more intimately and lead lives which would please Him. We must fulfill the will of God in our personal life as well as family life. Then He will grant us His grace in an abundant measure.

David the Psalmist says, “How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings” (Psalm 36:7). “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). Those who dwell in the presence of the Lord will be safe and secure under His wings. When we abide in fellowship with God, we shall receive all blessings.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are my the joy of my life. Help me to grow in the knowledge of your love. Renew my mind through the power of the Holy Spirit. Increase my faith and enable me to live in the power of your Spirit. Keep me secure in your divine presence. Give me the grace to abide in fellowship with You and become more like You.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.    (2 Timothy 1:7)
Dearly beloved, the Bible says, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Today, many youth are in grip of needless fear. They think that if they complete their studies in school and enter college, all fears will disappear. But when they go there, fresh fears and worries assail them.

They then think that after graduation, when they go for higher studies, all their anxieties will vanish. But when they go for post-graduate studies, again new anxieties spring up.

Then they think that if they get good jobs, there would be no more worries. But even after getting good jobs, many threatening forces assail them. In order to deliver us from all fears, God has given us His own Holy Spirit. Receiving that, all of you can live like Lord Jesus, wielding great power in this world.

There was a renowned theologian called Chrysostom. One day, someone approached him and asked, “Are you not afraid of anything? Do you have the fear of death?” He replied, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

He then asked Chrysostom: “Suppose you are exiled. Would you be afraid?” He answered, “The earth belongs to God. Everything in it belongs to Him. Wherever I go, the presence of God will be with me. He will prosper me anywhere.” He was then asked: “In case you lost all your wealth, would you be afraid? He responded, “No. Nothing did we bring to this world and nothing do we take out of it. Why should we be afraid then?”

Yes, friends! You can also be bold like that. The Lord will fill you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will empower you to walk in victory. He will dispel all your fears. He will make you a conqueror.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are the mighty God. You can do great things. Empower me with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Endow me with your awesome power. Transform my life through the power of your Spirit. Give me the strength to overcome the trials that come my way. Deliver me from all my fears. Give me the faith to walk in victory each day.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

UNSHAKEABLE TRUST

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.    (Isaiah 26:3)
Dearly beloved, perfect peace comes from God.

There was a Bishop in Norway. During the Second World War, the German Army captured that country. At that time, one day, there was a knock at the door of the Bishop’s house.

When the door was opened, a German army officer was standing majestically. He said: “Bishop! I am going to arrest you.” The Bishop had no hesitation whatever.

All his relatives screamed: Alas! They are going to arrest the Bishop!” But he said with a smile: “I shall come with you,” and went boldly with the army officer. He returned home very soon after being released. Even after the war, God gave Him the grace to do His ministry with staunch faith for many more years.

At that hour of crisis, the Holy Spirit gave him such calm and courage. Was it not because he had implicit trust in God and knew that in his life everything would happen for his good, that even in that situation he could stand so fearless and bold? Otherwise, he would have faltered in fear.

When we live pinning our faith in God, all will be for good in our lives. The Holy Spirit Himself will grant us a clear understanding, divine peace, confidence to stand fast in any crisis and live victorious lives.

The Scripture says, “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3). According to this verse, let us look up to God instead of focusing on our problems. When we thus trust in Him, His peace will rule our hearts.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

True peace comes from You. You have promised peace to your children. I look to You for peace and place my cares on You. I trust in your faithfulness. Let your peace rule my heart. Deliver me from my hardships. Give me the strength to overcome the trials and enable me to shine for your glory.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

Bible Quiz

Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

 (A) The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally and written inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the complete and divine revelation of God to man. The scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. The King James Version and other translations will be used.

 (B) Dispensationalism

We believe that the Scriptures interpreted in their natural, literal sense reveal divinely determined dispensations or rules of life which define man's responsibilities in successive ages. These dispensations are not ways of salvation, but rather are divinely ordered stewardships by which God directs man according to His purpose. Three of these dispensations - the age of law, the age of the Church, and the age of the kingdom - are the subjects of the Church detailed revelation in scripture.

 (C) The Godhead

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons namely the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost, each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.

 (D)  The Person and Work of Christ

(1) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.

(2) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.

(3) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.

(E)The Person and Work of the Holy Ghost

We believe the Holy Ghost convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and, that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.

We believe that He is the Divine Teacher who assists believers to understand and appropriate the Scriptures and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit as evidenced outwardly with speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowal of spiritual gifts to every believer. God uniquely uses evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip believers, in the assembly, in order that they can do the work of the ministry.

 (F)  The Total Depravity of Man

We believe that man was created in the image of likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and, that man is totally depraved, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.

(G)  Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.

We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word, which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh.

 (H)  The Church
We believe that the local church, which is the body of the espoused bride of Christ, is solely made up of born-again persons.

We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures.
We believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control.
We recognize water baptism and Communion as the Scriptural ordinances of obedience for the Church in this age.

(I)  Separation
We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly sinful pleasures, practices, and associations is commanded of God.

 (J)  The Second Advent of Christ
We believe in that “blessed hope” the personal, imminent return of Christ who will rapture His Church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return, with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the Nation of Israel.

(K)  The Eternal Statement
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment. We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord.

We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious punishment and torment until the second resurrection, when with soul and body reunited they shall appear at the Great White Throne Judgment, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment and torment.

 (L) The Personality of Satan
We believe that Satan is the author of sin and the cause of the fall of man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man and, that he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire.

 (M) Creation
We believe that God created the universe.  We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as un-scriptural theories of origin.

 (N)  Human Sexuality
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex.

(O) Abortion
We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder, we reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable.

 (P) Giving
We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God's wealth entrusted to him, is obligated to support his/her local church financially. We believe that God has established the tithe as a basis for giving but that every Christian should also give other offerings sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of the Church, there relief of those in need, and the spread of the Gospel. We believe that Christian relinquishes all rights to direct the use of the tithe or offering once the gift has been made.

 (Q) Holiness
 (1)  We believe Holiness is commanded in the Word and is God’s standard of living for His people.  We believe that those saved should live a separate, set apart life from the world.  We believe that Holiness isn’t in your hair, in your clothes, or even in your jewelry, but it’s something done on the inside shown on the outside.  Holiness is a standard to be raised above all else and to conduct ourselves in such a manner that everyone around can tell us apart.

 (R) Holy Ghost
 (1)      We believe in Speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.  We believe that this is instructed in the Word of God and is a free gift, just as salvation, awaiting any believer that wishes to accept it.  We believe that the Holy Ghost was given to us after Jesus was resurrected from the tomb on the third day.  It was given to be our guide when we don’t know what to do; when we don’t know what to pray!

(2)We believe that speaking in tongues is a prayer language given by the Holy Ghost so that when we don’t understand what to pray, God uses us as a vessel of honor.  We believe all believer’s have the Holy Ghost, but not all have the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

(S) Divine Healing
We believe that Divine Healing is offered to all who believe and is given to all in the Atonement.  We believe that Divine Healing and faith go hand in hand.  In the Word of God when someone came to the Lord for healing, Jesus would state, “Your FAITH has made you whole.”

 (T) Baptism
We believe that Baptism by full immersion is the only way given by scripture.  Your body must go completely under the water because you are taking off the old man and putting on the new.  It’s the literal Death, Burial and Resurrection of Christ.  When He died, our sins died with Him, He was buried and resurrected and this meant that our new man was clean of all sin.

Today's Word of Blessing

LIVING IN GOD'S WILL

The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.    (1 John 2:17)
Dearly beloved, doing God’s will brings joy into your life.

One day, I was reading an article about film stars. The writer noted that all of them were young men and earned crores of rupees. But when I read about their lives, I saw that most of them were addicted to drinks and drugs.

Losing their peace of mind, they often committed suicide. Sometime back, we read in the newspapers that a famous actress aged 19 committed suicide by falling from a multi-storeyed building. What a tragedy!

The Bible says, “The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever” (1 John 2:17). The fashions of this world pass off. Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, the pride of life and the glory of the world- all these will pass away. But those who do the will of God will endure not only in this world but even beyond it.

That is why Lord Jesus told satan: “Get behind me satan. You shall not tempt me.” He did not aspire for the world’s riches and glory. God was enough for Him.

Joseph also said likewise. In Genesis chapter 39, we see how he was tempted to a wrong relationship. When his master’s wife enticed him to a sinful relationship, he spurned it saying: “How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?" (Genesis 39:9). He desired to stand fast for God.

How was Lord Jesus able to resist the sinful pleasures offered by satan? He was filled with the Holy Spirit in abundant measure (John 3:34). Joseph also was filled with the ‘Spirit of God’ (Genesis 41:38). Hence he did not yield to sin. He stood firmly for God and ultimately became the prime minister of that country.

When you are filled with the Holy Spirit in an unlimited measure, God gives you the strength to resist the attractions of the world. He will enable you to love Him with all your heart. Above all, He will exalt you and honour you.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I want to do your will. Fill me with the Holy Spirit in abundant measure. Give me the strength to resist and walk away from evil ways. Teach me to choose the right path of life. Help me to live according to your will that I may inherit your blessings.

I ask this through Christ our Lord

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

A LIFE PLEASING TO GOD

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.     (3 John 1:2)
Dearly beloved, the Scripture says, “No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married” (Isaiah 62:4).

Today, you can see many families in a forsaken state. But the Word of God says: “You shall be called Hepzibah and your land Beulah.” Yes! God takes delight in those who do His will and blesses them.

When Lord Jesus lived on this earth, He passed through the path of tears from the beginning to the end. So He knows your tears. Do not be dejected. He comforts you: “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well” (3 John 2).

Laban, on the eve of his sister’s marriage greeted her: “Our sister, may you increase to thousands upon thousands!” (Genesis 24:60). Similarly, an angel greeted Mary: “Greetings, you who are highly favored!” (Luke 1:28). Likewise, God will bless you too.

The life of Lord Jesus Christ was pleasing in the sight of God (Isaiah 42:1; Matthew 12:18; 3:17; 17:5; Mark 1:11, Luke 3:22; 2 Peter 1:17). This was the testimony of God the Father about His Son Jesus. Similarly, Lord Jesus Christ says of you: “Behold, My chosen children! They are My beloved.” What was the reason for God the Father to testify about Lord Jesus: “In whom I am well pleased?” Lord Jesus said, “The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him" (John 8:29).

The Son of God who came from God said that all His actions were pleasing to His Father. He asked, “Can any of you prove me guilty of sin?” (John 8:46). Can you say so? Is your life pleasing to God? Even amidst His sufferings on the Cross, Lord Jesus submitted Himself wholly to His Father’s will saying: "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me” (Matthew 26:39).

When I was young, I used to go and tell the neighbours whatever people might have told me. But after receiving the salvation and anointment of God, I gave up the habit. Once, we had been to a place where we had some work. As we had to stay there for a month, we chose to reside with a family there. One day, the mother-in-law came to my room and told me all the complaints she had against her daughter-in-law. After she left, the daughter-in-law came and told me all the complaints she had against her mother-in-law.

I used to tell them both of God’s love. The daughter-in-law held fast to God. One day, while I was praying with her, the Holy Spirit descended upon her in great abundance. She committed herself entirely to the Lord and even today lives as a beloved of God.

Be watchful of doing everyday only what is pleasing to God. Do not forget that He is with you at all times. Whatever may be your situation, He is able to change it because He is a loving God. When you hold on to His promises and walk accordingly, He will bless you.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You delight in those who do your will. Help me to hold on to your promises and walk according to them. Help me to be watchful in my ways. Let my life be pleasing to You. Help me to abide in your love and bear fruit. Let there be a change in the way I live. Let my life bring glory to your name.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

LIVING GOD'S WAY

And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.    (Romans 5:5)
Dearly beloved, the Bible says, “The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever” (1 John 2:17).

I once read a humorous story. One day a pastor phoned up to the commissioner of the municipality and said, “A donkey lies dead in front of my house. Please make arrangements for burying it.”

The clerk who spoke over the phone said mischievously: “Pastor! It is your responsibility to bury the dead.” The pastor retorted, “It is true that we bury the dead. But before that, we contact the close relatives of the deceased. Hence I rang up to you.”

On many occasions, there are those who also become like the donkey. The more Lord Jesus Christ tries to transform them, the more they become like the donkey. 1 John 2:16 says that this world brings ‘pride of life’ into their hearts. Through the lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes, it tries to ruin them. But the Bible says: “For this world in its present form is passing away” (1 Corinthians 7:31).

In Matthew chapter 4, we read how the devil came to Lord Jesus and said that if He would fall down and worship him, he would make Him great by giving Him the glory of this world and its riches. Likewise, today the devil enters into the hearts of young men and women saying: “You follow me and I will make you great.” Alas! What a pity, and this world passes off.

Look at the experts in rock music. They appear so sure and confident on the stage. People forget themselves and dance to their music and even become slaves to it. But if you examine the lives of those artistes, you will find that they show off their talents only on the stage. But in their real lives, they are addicted to drugs and slaves to the lusts of the flesh with no peace in their families. Ultimately, they die of incurable and dreadful diseases. Moreover, when their fame fades away, they lose their peace and ruin their lives.

When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, the love of God is being poured out (Romans 5:5). You start loving God with all your heart. He always protects your soul and He abides in you. Lord Jesus said in John 16:32; 8:28,29: “My Father is always with Me. He does not leave Me alone because I always do those things that please Him.”

The Holy Spirit transforms you to do His will. He will help you to stand for Him steadily. After that, you will feel in your heart that you are a child of God and that you should not sin against Him. You can boldly say, “Lord Jesus loves me. He gives me whatever I ask in His name. Since I love Him much, I have the right to ask Him everything. I will not yield to the pleasures of sin. I can ask anything from Him.” Then the blessings of God will surely come upon you.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I delight in pleasing You. I desire to do your will. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Transform me to do your will. Help me to obey You and do what is right. Preserve me from the evil ways of life. Abide in me and protect my soul. Give me the grace to live according to your ways.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

GOD'S GREAT GOODNESS

I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders.    (Psalm 9:1)
Dearly beloved, God is abundant in goodness.

David had to go through various afflictions in his life. Fearing his own son, he was hiding in the hills and caves. But the Lord was with him all through his afflictions and sufferings, and blessed him in an abundant measure.

Hence David wrote the following words with great joy: “I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me” (Psalm 13:6). “I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders” (Psalm 9:1). “How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD” (Psalm 116:12,13).

In a Jesus Calls Prayer Festival held recently, a brother by name Kishore shared his testimony before the mammoth crowd. Everyone was thrilled to hear his testimony. He got married in 1995 and after two years, was blessed with a boy child. But alas! The child died after three days. Within the next 15 days, his wife lost her father. So the entire family was immersed in deep sorrow.

One day while they were watching a Jesus Calls TV Programme, my beloved Father Bro. D. G. S. Dhinakaran was delivering the Lord’s message. It seems during the prayer time he prophetically said, “Now I see a sister, who has lost her son as well as her father, going through much sorrow. The Lord is touching her today and satisfying her with His goodness.”

The wife of Bro. Kishore firmly held on to these prophetic words. Within a few days she conceived again. What a wonder! The Lord blessed her with triplets. All the three babies were boy babies. She lost one boy child in February but got three boy babies in December in the same year. When Bro. Kishore and his wife brought their three sons and shared their testimony, everyone was thrilled. My husband named them as Joshua, Joseph and Joel. Today, the three have grown up and are doing their 10th standard.

You may be going through various problems in your life. Just look at the Lord and tell him, “Lord I have lost my children one after another. How long should I suffer without a child? How long should I wait for a job? Lord, bless me today.” The Lord who blessed the family of Kishore is able to bless you also.

Today, the Lord will bless you also in the same way. He will anoint you with the Holy Spirit and satisfy you with His goodness. He will also supply all your needs. He who promised, “Even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you” (Zechariah 9:12), will certainly bless you in double measure.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are abundant in goodness. I praise You for You have been good to me. I thank You for your benevolence. Lord, I seek your blessings . Remember me in your kindness and show me your favour. Satisfy me with your goodness. Supply all my needs. Bless me in double measure.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

Today's Word of Blessing

PATIENCE BRINGS REWARDS

How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.    (Psalm 31:19)
Dearly beloved, God will reward you for your patience.

In a family, a wife together with her husband sought God, received His anointment and led a godly life. But there was a problem. Her parents-in-law came to reside with them. After some time, the mother-in-law created problems and disturbed the peace in the family.

Do you know what the daughter-in-law used to do? She would go straight to her room and kneel down and plead with God. After peace was restored, she would come out of the room. Many days passed like that.

In course of time, the hard-hearted mother-in-law changed. She repented for speaking ill of her daughter-in-law and began to admire her. After a while she passed away. Everyone praised the daughter-in-law for her patience. The Lord was with her during her time of affliction and she endured everything patiently. He exalted her at the appropriate time (1 Peter 1:7).

The Bible says, “In your patience possess your souls” (Luke 21:19). “Your sufferings are for a while” (1 Peter 5:10). Surely there is an end for them. The Lord will change all your sorrows. Do not be troubled!

Hold on to the promises of the Lord and rejoice in the Lord at all times. If your name is ‘Ruth,’ keep saying: “Ruth! Fear not! Rejoice and be happy! The Lord will do great things.” Repeat these words again and again in faith and praise the Lord. Then the Lord will say, “Daughter of Zion, your faith is great; Rejoice and sing. I will do great things!”

The Scripture positively says, “How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you” (Psalm 31:19). Accordingly, God will exalt you in a wonderful way and bless you.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are the God of patience and comfort. I look to You in my affliction. Turn to me and hear my cry. I believe that all things work together for good to them that love God. I wait for your blessings. Answer my prayers. Deliver me from my hardship and bless me with good things. Reward me for my patience.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

THE STRENGTH OF GOD

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.    (Isaiah 40:31)
Dearly beloved, walking with Lord Jesus is a supernatural experience.

We read the story of Samson in the Book of Judges (13-16). He was one of the judges of the Israelites. He was anointed by God. When the Philistines ruled over the Israelites, he rose up against them. The Lord made him a judge among the Israelites and gave him great strength.

The Philistines wanted to destroy Samson. They told the Israelites, “Handover Samson to us. Otherwise we will destroy you.” The Israelites bound him with two new ropes and handed him over to the Philistines. Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and the ropes on his arms became like charred flax and the binding dropped from his hands.

When evil people rise up against you, do not think that the Lord has forsaken you. The Holy Spirit will come upon you mightily. He will let the world know that you are His child. So be of good cheer. When your enemies come against you, you must rejoice saying, “The Almighty God will descend upon me like the rain.” Then the Holy Spirit will certainly descend upon you and deliver you from all your problems.

The Scripture says, “If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!” (Proverbs 24:10). When the people for whom you have done good rise up against you, the strength of God will come upon you. So never get perturbed during the time of affliction. It is at such times God will give you the strength to rise up like eagles (Isaiah 40:31). When you walk through a storm in your life, the Lord will go before you and calm the storm. The strength of God will help you to reach your destination safely.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

My strength is only in You. I look to You for strength. I wait upon You for your help. Fill me mightily with the Holy Spirit. Let your strength come upon me. Go before me and calm the storm. Deliver me from my afflictions and bless me. Renew my strength and help me to gain victory.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.

THE PEACE OF JESUS

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.    (John 14:27)
Dearly beloved, the Holy Spirit gives us clear understanding. Lord Jesus said in John 14:27; “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

When the Holy Spirit descends upon you, you will be filled with the peace of God. That peace was in Lord Jesus Christ. When the enemies of Lord Jesus wanted to arrest Him in the Garden of Gethsemane, they searched for Him everywhere.

At that time He asked them: “Whom are you seeking?” They said: “We seek Jesus of Nazareth.” He then told them: "I am he…" (John 18:6). They could not believe that. They were puzzled that knowing that they had come to arrest Him, He was quite unruffled and surrendered Himself. Yes, the divine peace in Him chased all the fears away.

Only the Holy Spirit gave Him that peace (Hebrews 9:14). That is why Lord Jesus, though He was earlier troubled about death (Matthew 26:38), when the Holy Spirit came upon Him prayed unto His Father: “Father, not as I will, but as You will.” Through the divine peace brought by the Holy Spirit, confidence was instilled in Him. He had faith that the Father will do everything good for Him.

In Acts 12:8, we read that Peter was caught and imprisoned by Herod. Like James, he was bound and imprisoned to be executed the next day. But his heart was filled with peace. He had sound sleep in his chains without bothering about the grave danger awaiting him the next day. He had perfect peace and a sound mind. He knew fully well: “No harm will befall me. All things work together for good according to the purpose of God.” According to his faith, an angel of God opened the gates of the prison and took him out from there. He was released miraculously.

Often we worry about trivial matters. When examinations approach, we are deeply disturbed. We become discouraged feeling that we would surely fail. And consequently we fail in the examinations. When some anxiety regarding our family affects us, unnecessary problems arise in the family and we fight among ourselves. Now and then, while anxiety regarding our jobs affects us we think: “I will surely lose my job. I can’t do justice to it.” A nameless fear haunts us and in the end we lose our jobs.

In our daily lives, a kind of dread haunts us without our knowledge. But beloved! When the Holy Spirit comes within us, divine peace will fill our hearts even in the midst of problems. He will give us a clear understanding. As a result, we will be able to face our problems calmly and achieve success.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are the Prince of peace. I seek your divine peace in my life. I trust in You for You are my everlasting refuge. Come and abide within me. Let your divine peace fill my heart. Deliver me from all my fears. Help me to overcome my problems and achieve success in life.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.
