HOLD FAST TO GODStella Dhinakaran
A faithful man will abound with blessings (Proverbs 28:20)
The Bible says, “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth” (I John 3:18). According to the above mentioned Scripture verse, you must love God not with your words but with your actions. Come what may, you should cling on to Lord Jesus. Only a very few people cling on to Him in spite of various difficulties.
Joseph was a devout youngster. As he could not tolerate the misdeeds of his brothers, he reported them to his father. So they rose against him, harmed him and chased him away. On account of that, he was separated from his parents even while he was quite young.
His master’s wife tried to deceive him and hence he was put in prison. Although she tried her best to entice him, he did not fall into temptation. Instead he said, “How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God” (Genesis 39:9). He was so faithful to the Lord and led a holy life.
The Lord blessed Joseph and exalted him in the nation. He changed the situation in such a way that those who rose up against him came and fell at his feet.
My dearly beloved youngsters, of course, it is difficult to overcome all temptations and lead a holy life. But when you cling on to God firmly, He will grant you success in everything. He will enable you to receive double portion of blessing in this world itself. The Lord who blessed Job and Joseph and exalted them will certainly exalt you also.
The Bible says, “A faithful man will be richly blessed” (Proverbs 28:20). Hold fast to the Lord and lead a blameless life. Trust in Him and wait for Him. He will deliver you from your afflictions and honour you. He will shower His rich blessings upon you.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I love You with all my heart. I cling on to You. I choose to follow You faithfully. Give me the grace to lead a holy life. Shower your rich blessings upon me. Bless me and exalt me. Grant me success in everything. Prosper me abundantly.
I ask this through Christ our Lord
Amen.
